Aya no Shiro (綾の白), meaning “The White of the Silk Weave”, is among the most exclusive ceremonial matchas produced by Marukyu Koyamaen — a Kyoto tea house with over 300 years of heritage.
This rare blend is crafted from Uji’s earliest spring harvest, where only the most tender leaves are shade-grown, hand-picked, and stone-milled with unmatched precision.

The result is a matcha of luminous brightness and profound calm: smooth, layered umami with a lingering sweetness and almost silky texture.

How to Prepare

  1. Sift 2g (½ tsp) of matcha into a chawan

  2. Add 60ml hot water (80°C / 176°F)

  3. Whisk slowly for koicha, or briskly for usucha

  4. Drink mindfully — notice the calm, the clarity, the rare smoothness
