The Deep Soul of Kagoshima Matcha

Chiran Matcha (知覧抹茶) is grown in Kagoshima, Japan’s southernmost tea region — where fertile volcanic soil and warm ocean winds create a matcha with remarkable depth and clarity.

This particular blend, labeled “すごく濃い” (Very Rich), is crafted under the supervision of Tea Appraiser Rank 10 – Mori Hiroyuki (森裕之氏), one of Japan’s highest-certified tea masters.
The result is a matcha with powerful umami, gentle astringency, and a deep, resonant aroma that stays long after the final sip.

How to Prepare

  1. Sift 2g (½ tsp) of matcha into a bowl

  2. Add 70ml hot water (80°C / 176°F)

  3. Whisk briskly in a “W” motion until fine foam appears

  4. Enjoy as usucha (light tea), or add milk for a deep matcha latte
